Telegram Release

Our developers created a database to track our own metrics following the release of our app: FAN.io Arcade.  The following metrics are over a 2 week period post release.

Ready to Launch

After building a component library and design system with the other designer, I prepared multiple versions of the app. One was the immediate one needed for our initial release (on Telegram), that was designed for scalability, while also holding appeal as a "complete" app.

Early Ideation & Designs

I worked with two product managers to define the mini games for our product, and the other designer to construct an initial design system which included menu exploration, fonts, primary colors, buttons, etc.

Defining Scope

After some initial competitive research, the Product and Design determined an initial set of features for the mobile app:

Arcade

Challenges

Missions

Players

Friends

Rewards

Goals

This mobile-first application was both designed to exist as a standalone app, and also seamlessly connect with the Fan.io partner portal -- allowing brands and leagues to launch and operate within the arcade, driving mutual benefits. Some of the key goals are summed up as:

Engagement & Entertainment

Create a fun, interactive experience that keeps users coming back, whether they’re hardcore sports fans or casual players. Encourage repeat engagement through points, rewards, and possibly social or competitive features that make users feel like part of a larger fan-driven experience.

Innovation in Sports Entertainment

Differentiate from traditional sports gaming by offering unique mechanics, challenges, or incentives that make Fan.io stand out.

Monetization Without Pay-to-Win

Develop a sustainable revenue model that encourages spending without making the experience feel like a "pay-to-play" system.

Fan.io Arcade

The ultimate sports arcade for fans to play real-time interactive games

My process can vary with the scale of the project, but is consistently a systematic approach that involves understanding user needs, creating thoughtful designs, and refining solutions through continuous testing and feedback loops.

Iteration

After realizing we were overcomplicating the homepage, and recognizing we needed to scale back the feature set for V1, I drafted a redesign that focused on our main feature: gameplay connected to live sports.

We also pivoted from designing a standalone app, to an embeddable and reskin-able arcade that could live within any other application. This shift was part of our larger monetization plan. I worked on wireframes for a web portal that would manage partnerships with advertisers/sponsors/leagues/etc.
